Welcome
This site archives everything I’ve written since
1998 which I think is still worth reading. From newspaper
features
to opinion
columns, published poems
to reportage, magazines to books,
it’s all here.
Here, too, is my eclectic blog.
Climate change, the art of cartooning, deep ecology,
poetry, the end of civilization, the horror that is
Bono ... I like to keep things varied. Please come and
help steer the conversation.
If you enjoy this site, you can sign up to my mailing
list. I’ll alert you every month or so to
new material I’ve published, forthcoming stuff
and any events
I’m involved in.
For over a decade I’ve been a writer, journalist
and environmental campaigner. From torture in the highlands
of New Guinea to tree-sitting in Hampshire; from street
protest in Italy to alternative economics in the Himalayas;
from armed rebellion in Mexico to the decline of the
English pub, I try to write about the links between
people and places, the political and the personal, in
a way that might make them matter to you as much as
they do to me.
I hope you find something here to engage you.
